Frame Buffer error after upgrading to VMware Workstation 7

Upgraded my version of VMware Workstation today from 6.0 to 7.0. Have two VMs both were in a suspended state. One resumed just fine. The second one while it does have snapshot in a powered off state was also in a suspended(running) state and I received the following error messages:

The frame buffer layout error message
The frame buffer layout error message

Had a look through the VMware forums for possible assistance, a few different things to try, most I wasn’t happy in attempting, it’s late I’m tired and looking forward to editing hex code right now, not so much.
The fix, reinstall the old version. Start the VM up, no problems. Shutdown the VM, reinstall Workstation 7, and all working.
Mostly annoying because I am studying for my VCP and wanted to check a couple of things and spent the better part of an hour and half sorting this all out. Instead of studying. 😐
I would have understood if I had changed monitors, computers, cloned it, updated video drivers etc, however did none of these, so it is a little weird to me why I would get this message. If someone has an explanation I would love to hear it.
Any how, all good now, back to the study.
